As we reported yesterday, 24-year-old singer Chris Brown suffered a seizure while working in a Los Angeles recording studio, resulting in a 911 call. (Chris reportedly refused medical treatment from EMTs when they arrived.) Today Chris Brown’s rep issued a statement offering up some details about Chris’ current condition and the contributing factors that are believed to have led to the episode:

While in the studio working early [yesterday] morning, Chris suffered a nonepileptic seizure (NES). He was not hospitalized. His doctor tended to him this afternoon and attributes the NES to intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress, both due to the continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and the nonstop negativity.

It was clear the “nonstop negativity” was taking its toll on Brown when he revealed early in the week that his next album may very well be his last as he was contemplating retiring from music upon its completion due to the continued focus on his beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009. “I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18,” Brown tweeted Tuesday. (You can read his full comments about his imminent retirement here.)

Chris iterated his point with a tweet earlier today in which he seems to suggest that the media will not love him until after he is gone:
