E! News is also confirming the story. Both E! and TMZ have sources saying that that Mindy also shot and killed her dog.

This tragic news comes after her boyfriend, David Wilson, was found dead just over a month ago. His passing was first reported as a self-inflicted gunshot wound but since that time the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office has been conducting an ongoing investigation as to the cause.

Following Wilson’s death, McCready’s two sons – Zander (6) and Zayne (9-months-old) – were removed from her home because the singer had, “indulged in too much alcohol because she was still mourning David’s passing,” according to a source with E!.  The “Guys Do It All the Time” singer was later ordered to enter a treatment facility by a judge. Just one day after, however, McCready was released to undergo outpatient treatment instead.

Her body was found in Heber Springs, Arkansas.

UPDATE: Here’s the official statement from the aforementioned Cleburne Sheriff’s Office:

“At 3:31 PM, Sunday, February 17th Deputies from the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of gun shots fired in the area of 1132 Fox Chase Drive in Heber Springs. Officers arrived on the scene at 3:58 PM and discovered the body of 37-year-old Melinda Gayle McCready on the front porch of the residence at 1132 Fox Chase. Ms. McCready was pronounced dead at the scene from what appears to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. At this time family members have been notified of the incident. Ms. McCready will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the matter will be fully investigated.”
