Former star of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Sheree Whitfield is finally getting somewhere in her child support case against her ex-husband Bob Whitfield. The former NFL tackle was ordered to pay Sheree $75,000 in back child support and he only has 21 days to fork up the money or he’ll face the consequences in court.
According to TMZ, the former couple appeared in court recently to discuss the matter of child support. Bob admitted to missing 38 payments of $2,142 which adds up to over $81,000. His reason? He simply didn’t have the cash. Bob requested that the judge lower his child support payments but the judge declined. He must have been aware that back in 2000, Bob signed with the Atlanta Falcons for $30 million.
The two sides eventually struck a deal in which Bob is required to pay $75,000 to Sheree for the back support by November 11. In addition to that, he must continue to make his regular child support payments to her. However, the payments will be lowered to just $1,000 per month for the next 12 months. Following that, he will be required to go back to the original amount of $2,142.
Sheree, who “quit” Real Housewives of Atlanta after season 4, and Bob divorced in 2007 and have two children together. In addition to child support, Sheree received a lump sum of $775,000, as well as an annual $113,422 in her ex’s retirement funds in their divorce settlement. Unfortunately, most of that went unpaid.
