Alicia Silverstone released this video through her vegan diet and lifestyle site thekindlife.com of herself feeding her 11-month old son Bear Blue like a bird: by chewing up the food and spitting it in his mouth!

She posted a video taken a few months ago, where she went to his mouth, but now says that he practically attacks her mouth to get food (like in the photo above.)

I just had a delicious breakfast of miso soup, collards and radish steamed and drizzled with flax oil, cast iron mochi with nori wrapped outside, and some grated daikon. Yum! I fed Bear the mochi* and a tiny bit of veggies from the soup…from my mouth to his. It’s his favorite…and mine. He literally crawls across the room to attack my mouth if I’m eating. This video was taken about a month or 2 ago when he was a bit wobbly. Now he is grabbing my mouth to get the food!

*Mochi is a glutinous rice that’s pounded into a paste, and shaped. Nori, is seaweed smashed into sheets, and we most often use it to roll sushi.

i think to each there own i mean it is her child… i myself wouldn’t do it obviously cause that is gross lol… it almost looks like she is kissing him “wrong” but it’s her child i guess so as long as he is healthy let it be…

The kid is almost 1, he is MORE than capable of eating by himself. He should be getting practice with silverware also. Just weird

That’s disgusting! Poor kid is probably hungry and wants to chew his own food! I can hardly put food on my daughter’s highchair tray fast enough, let alone chew it and spit it in her mouth..gross!!!

Well it saves the time of having to smash and dice everything you give to your baby I guess.

I’ve never seen a human parent do that before….like others have said to each their own….but that is gross to me and very odd.

My mom did this with all 4 of her kids. I only remember it with my baby sister, though. She loved it. It may seem odd, but it’s perfectly fine.

Does Bear not have any teeth? That’s the only reason why this would make sense to me. By the time my kids were a year old, they wanted to do everything themselves, if they couldn’t pick it up with their fingers and eat it, they refused to eat it.

I’ve chewed food for my son before but never spit it directly in his mouth. Every parent is different.

I can understand chewing the food, then putting it on a spoon THEN feeding it to your child.. But to have your kid stick his tongue in your mouth to get it? Thats a bit too messed up.
Its funny how celebrities think they are such a special product of society, that they can be as bizzare and controversial as they like simply because people know their names. My guess is that they know they are literally nothing special, despite being celebrities, they know that they are just the same as the general population, so they do these things to say “Hey! Look, LOOK! I’m different than you! Look how different and unique I am as a celebrity! My fame and fortune is completely justified because I am such a beautiful product of society and you aren’t! Challenge me, I dare you!”
Ugh. The same reason they think they can (and DO) get away with parking in handicapped spots without a permit.
