MYSTERY revealed: This is (mostly) what Pam told Michael Scott in the airport when he left The Office

Sometimes the most emotional moments on film or TV are heightened by a lack of words. Like Bill Murray’s whispers to Scarlett Johansson at the end of Lost in Translation, the encounter of The Office‘s Pam (née Beesley) Halpert and Michael Scott at the airport is one where the audience sees but does not hear. Now Jenna Fischer, the actress who plays Pam Beesley, has given the world insight about what she said during that very raw moment. We have to keep in mind this wasn’t just Pam losing Michael, it was also Jenna losing Steve Carrell.

On an Instagram live Q & A Jenna revealed that this exactly what the moment was. She wasn’t playing a character ad libbing so much as she was being herself while saying good by to a long-time colleague and close friend. ?

“That was me talking to Steve,” Jenna said. “I told him all the ways I was going to miss him when we left our show. Those were real tears and a real goodbye. That was a really emotional scene.”

There have been rumors and teasings from The Office producers that the popular show may soon be rebooted. The old episodes now seem to be as popular as ever. Old and new fans alike can’t seem to get enough of binge watching the show on Netflix, the physical copies, and other platforms. Jenna has been outspoken about her enthusiasm for bringing the team back together.

She recently even hung out with members of “The Finer Things Club:” Paul Lieberstein (Toby Flenderson,) Oscar Nunez (Oscar,) and Andy (Ed Helms.) Of course, Andy was a wannabe member of the club, but the others have been kind enough to finally let him in. They’re even selling signed merch.
