VIDEO VH1 aims to ‘help white girls’ with new show, Bye Felicia!

Bye Felicia - Deborah Hawkes and Missy Young

Help is on the way for white girls of Los Angeles, thanks to VH1’s new show Bye Felicia!

From the network…

White women of LA are getting a serious confidence boost and a little dose of reality with the series premiere of Bye Felicia!… This 8-episode, hour long series follows Atlanta-based life coaches Deborah Hawkes and Missy Young as they set out to help white girls across the Los Angeles area. Each closed-ended episode aims to empower two different women who could use a dose of honesty in order to turn their lives around. Hoping to impart their unique experience and wisdom through motherly tough love, Deb and Missy teach these women to say hello to their better selves and goodbye to Felicia.

On the show, the “dynamic duo” of Deborah and Missy will use their skills in personal development, change management and emotional healing to “see through the excuses, break down the barriers and give girls the tools they need to conquer just about anything.” Even though Deborah and Missy are based in Georgia, they will be helping women in L.A. — because they apparently need the most assistance.

“Life in Los Angeles isn’t easy. While it may seem that a stereotypical white girl is always counting calories, wearing UGG boots and spending more money on clothes for their Chihuahua than on themselves… Problems that go deeper than just the surface,” VH1 said in the press release. The accompanying preview video features a woman named Kip who really struggles in an interview.

Because I had to look it up, Urban Dictionary says “Bye Felicia” is a phrase used “When someone says that they’re leaving and you could really give two s**ts less that they are. Their name then becomes ‘Felicia,’ a random b**ch that nobody is sad to see go. Their real name becomes irrelevant because nobody cares what it really is. Instead, they now are ‘Felicia.'”

VH1’s Bye Felicia! premieres Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 9/8c.
