Brittany Murphy, who died this morning after suffering a cardiac arrest, acted in a lot of pretty cool movies like Clueless, Sin City, Spun, and Girl Interrupted, but it may be that her biggest impact was voicing the ditzy blond Texan Luanne Platter on King of the Hill for 12 years.
Luanne’s backstory was a country song: she had to go live with her aunt and uncle Peggy Hill after her mother stabbed her father with a fork and their trailer fell over. Luanne made herself at home with the Hills and the King of the Hill audience with her squeaky voice, naive innocence, and dreams to finish beauty school.
