VIDEO Dating show contestant casually cops to killing wife, mistress

Sefer Calinak - Luck of the Draw

A man looking for love was quickly dismissed from Turkey’s Luck of the Draw dating show after admitting he murdered his wife and mistress in separate incidents.

According to a USA Today translation of a Turkish newspaper, 62-year-old Sefer Calinak mentioned his complicated relationship history to the shock of the host. He explained he eloped with his first cousin when they were both 17 and she was promised to another man. After their wedding, Sefer was frustrated when his wife’s behavior changed.

“The nephew of the man who wanted to marry her started to come to our village. I was jealous and I killed her,” he said, adding he served time in prison for the crime.

Following his release from prison, Sefer remarried and had two children. He later separated from his wife and began a relationship with a married woman. When she refused to divorce her husband, they got into an argument and he said she attacked him. Conveniently, he was armed with an ax.

“I killed her after she tried to kill me,” he said. “She was accidentally killed when I swung the ax.”

He served six more years in prison for that crime. Now single and ready to mingle, Sefer said, “Bad luck always found me. In spite of everything, I still want to get married. This time I’ll leave it to God.”

Here’s a video of his introduction. It’s in Turkish, but the host’s reactions basically tell the story…

The show’s producer told the local newspaper he was aware of Sefer’s past, but permitted him to participate because he served the prison time.
