Cameron Diaz is known for a lot of things: being an A-list actress, having an amazing body, and dating Justin Timberlake, but singing… that isn’t one of them.
However, she’s not letting that stop her from starring in, and singing in, the new film adaptation of the musical Annie.
Cameron plays mean old Miss Hannigan, caretaker to orphan Annie and her bunk mates. Grumpy Miss Hannigan grows tired of taking care of children and vents her frustration by stampeding around her apartment singing the song “Little Girls.”
Check out Cameron in the clip below:
I must say, her rendition of “Little Girls” is much easier on the ears than her rendition of “I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself” from My Best Friend’s Wedding.
In her defense, Cameron’s character in Annie isn’t supposed to sound like a Grammy award-winning vocalist. For comparison, here’s a clip of Carol Burnett portraying Miss Hannigan in the 1982 version:
Annie hits theaters December 19th.
