Vanilla Ice arrested for stealing items from house neighboring reality show renovation location
Former rapper and current home renovation reality star Vanilla Ice has a potential crossover with Spike TV’s Catch a Contractor as he has been arrested in Florida after allegedly stealing items from a foreclosed property near one of the locations he was renovating for his show, DIY Network’s The Vanilla Ice Project.
Lantana, Florida police say Vanilla Ice (real name Robert Van Winkle) was picked up earlier today and charged with taking furniture, a pool heater, bicycles and other various items from a vacant home in the 100 block of North Atlantic Avenue sometime between December and February, according to The Sun Sentinel.
Police obtained a search warrant and located the stolen items in a home “under the care and control” by Vanilla Ice in unincorporated Palm Beach County. The items have reportedly been returned to the owner.
Vanilla Ice is renovating a home next door to the property from which the items were stolen for The Vanilla Ice Project. He was obviously unaware early this morning when he updated fans on Twitter before heading off to work:
Rise and grind, it's prime time. Actually it's coffee time, hee hee

Vanilla Ice has been charged with burglary and grand theft, but as yet we do not have his new mug shot photo as he is reportedly still working with Lantana Police in the matter.

Here is a recent video in which it is revealed Vanilla Ice and his DIY crew were working on a property in Palm Bay to help out a young boy paralyzed in an automobile accident:
Vanilla was honored last year by being named Wellington’s “Outstanding Citizen of the Year.” It’s unclear if this latest incident will mean he will have to renounce his title.
