Two seventh grade girls from Paterson, New Jersey, are facing criminal charges over a video in which they list about a dozen of their fellow students and teachers they would like to kill.

In the 20-minute video that they posted to YouTube they say things like “Wouldn’t you guys think I’d be the best assassin ever?” and “Stab him continuously in this area.”

One mother of one of the children named told CBS New York that her daughter kept getting up in the middle of the night to check to see if the doors were locked.

Another mother, Jackie Quinones, said before the video was even published, her daughter called her from school crying hysterically because one of the girls had read a list aloud of the people she wanted to kill.

“It’s serious enough for us to have this investigated, especially because of the current climate we’re in,’’ Mayor Jeffery Jones said Thursday. “Let’s hope that it was just frustrations and emotions and they didn’t mean anything, but we can’t sit back and just hope.’”
