Teen Mom‘s Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra are ready for parenthood!
“I would’ve felt guilty if I got pregnant again when Carly was 1 or 2. But we’ve both been yearning for this,” Catelynn exclusively told InTouch this week, adding she went off birth control three months ago.
Back in 2009, when Catelynn and Tyler chose adoption for their daughter, their personal situations were very different: Both were still in high school and living with their parents.
“I was too young when I got pregnant with Carly,” Catelynn said. “I was sad and scared.”
Now, Catelynn and Tyler both have full-time jobs caring for developmentally disabled adults. They also have the experience of serving as guardian to Tyler’s younger sister.
“We’ve learned from what our parents did wrong,” Catelynn explained. “Tyler and I own our own home, have two cars and actually have money to support a kid.”
Despite being Teen Mom‘s most enduring couple, Catelynn and Tyler have dealt with some relationship issues. During their appearance on Couples Therapy last spring, Tyler told Catelynn he wasn’t ready for marriage. Catelynn was devastated, but they agreed to postpone their wedding, which was originally scheduled for last summer.
As they had many times before, Catelynn and Tyler stuck together through the ordeal — and their relationship seems to have strengthened since then. Although Catelynn said she’s sure a new baby will be a challenge, she’s confident they are ready to take it on together.
“We have no doubt that raising a child will be hard. But I know we’re going to be really great parents.”
As crazy as it seems — considering a handful of the Teen Mom 2 and Teen Mom 3 girls have second or third children — this would be the first second pregnancy for anyone from Teen Mom. Pretty exciting!
