The biggest question in Hollywood has finally been answered! Officially! 50 Shades of Grey author E L James took to Twitter earlier today to finally lay all the casting rumors to rest by announcing that Sons of Anarchy‘s Charlie Hunnam will be playing the part of Christian Grey in the upcoming film adaptation of her best-selling erotic novel.

Hunnam will be joining Ben & Kate star (and daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith) Dakota Johnson, who E L James announced has been cast as Anastasia Steele in the film.
As far as Hunnam’s resume, here’s the introductory paragraph from his Wikipedia entry that just about covers it:
Charles Matthew “Charlie” Hunnam (born 10 April 1980) is a British actor and screenwriter. He is perhaps best known for his roles as Nathan Maloney in the Channel 4 drama Queer as Folk, Lloyd Haythe in the Fox comedy series Undeclared, Pete Dunham in the film Green Street Hooligans, Jackson “Jax” Teller in the FX series Sons of Anarchy, and Raleigh Becket in the film Pacific Rim.
So what do you think about the casting choice for Christian Grey? Will Charlie Hunnam be able to get you super excited? 😉
