Sneak Peek: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers new Video ‘Something Good Coming’
There are only a handful of Rock and Roll’s elite that are getting better with age and growing into their years as gracefully as Tom Petty. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are set to release their first album together in eight years titled Mojo. I was fortunate enough to recently catch the all-encompassing Petty documentary Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Runnin’ Down a Dream and as a fan but not hard-core fan I was blown away by the depth and persistence of Petty and his band. I say this with conviction; that documentary is the most complete and well put together video on a band that I have seen. When you are done you have a clear and concise idea of who these guys are and what they’re about.
Enough hyperbole, Petty and the boys are great and here is just another video to prove it (courtesy of Spinner):
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers “Something Good Coming”
“I’m an honest man, work’s all I know. You take that away don’t know where to go”
For an artist known for groundbreaking videos like “Don’t Come Around Here No More,” “Last Dance With Mary Jane” and “Into the Great Wide Open” it is a nice touch that this video is the straight story, all song no frills. Mojo is set for release on June 15th and the band is backing it up with a tour. You can check out the dates and additional information at the band’s official website.
I couldn’t finish off a Tom Petty post without including my all time favorite Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers song. The Waiting:
That is a GREAT song and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are a great band.
