PHOTOS Johny Daly’s pants steal the show at The Open Championship

Millions tuned in to see if Tiger Woods would return to his winning ways on the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland, but their attention soon turned from the fallen hero with the colorful sexual history to the fallen hero with the colorful pants!

Long driver extraordinaire John Daly, who took the PGA by storm as a rookie in 1991 when he won the PGA Championship as the ninth alternate before succumbing to alcoholism later in his career, kicked off day one of The Open Championship (formerly The British Open) wearing some lavender paisley trousers, a pink shirt, a light blue sweater and a turquoise hat while smoking a cigarette:

Just as flashy as his attire was Daly’s remarkable 66 during the first round Thursday, which was only two strokes behind the leader and good enough for a tie for third place on the leaderboard! Daly returned on Friday with an even louder pair of fluorescent pink and green swirl pants with matching neon green shirt and cap with a black sweater!

Sadly, Daly’s flashy play on the course couldn’t keep up with his flashy attire on Friday as he shot a 76 in the second round, dropping his score to -2 and tied for 30th place. Perhaps folks attentions will once again turn to Tiger Woods for the final two rounds as the libidinous baller is currently tied for 7th place at 5 under, 7 strokes behind leader Louis Oosthuizen.

Some golf traditionalists are raising a stink about Daly’s attire, but at least he’s sober and on the course and not passed out at a Hooters! Here are some more photos of “The Daly Show” from the first two rounds of The Open Championship:

And just in case you thought Daly’s fashion statements were embarrassing for his girlfriend, Anna Cladakis, think again! She turned out to support her man wearing the same pair of bright pink pants! (I have to confess – they’re kinda sexy on her in an Austin Powers/groooooovy kinda way!)
