A&E’s newest reality series venture Epic Ink mashes up high-end tattooing and über-nerddom as the sci-fi/fantasy-obsessed artists of Area 51 tattoo studio in Springfield, Oregon lay down some of the most intricate and most geektacular skin ink in the solar system! Sometimes, however, the needle-wielding über-geeks are perhaps a little too über-geeky for potential customers. That’s where receptionist and self-described “Nerdio Translator” Caroline Russell comes in! In addition to being knowledgeable and well versed in Nerdio, Caroline has dual citizenship in the normal realm of human existence and serves as the perfect liaison between inkers and inkees. And did I mention she is calorific heap o’ eye candy?

So what’s the story on this looker, tattoo appointment booker, and geeky gobbledygooker? Caroline was actually born and has spent most of her 26 years about as far away from Oregon as you can get (and still be in the United States) on the Space Coast of Florida.

Although Caroline is quite fond of Star Wars, cats, and her boyfriend (Area 51 tattoo artist Jeff Wortham), her true passion is photography. Caroline started off in front of the lens as a model, but she eventually earned her degree in photographic technology and now spends most of her time taking the pictures. More on that in a minute, though, because I really feel I need to share some of these Caroline Russell modeling photos! (It’s journalism y’all!)

Here are a few photos of Caroline in lingerie posing for the Epic Inktoria’s Secret catalog:

And here’s Caroline showing off both her photographer and photographee skills while representin’ Nerdio with a pair of Superman (or Supergirl!) sleeping shorts:

Caroline got herself an online modeling profile in 2008 and this is how she described herself at the time:

Hi! I am Caroline Julianna, I am 20 years young with a passion for photography. I love being in front of the camera and hope to one day even work behind it. I love art and anything that has to do with creativity. I am a hard worker and a go-getter and plan on doing big things in life! My ideal photo shoot would be a rustic/urban scene with all kinds of graffiti and destructive artwork.

If you want to set up a shoot with me, my direct email is *************@earthlink.net. Unfortunately my time is limited because I am a full-time student, but I can usually always fit something in. I have no plans on shooting lingerie or implied nudes and I will not shoot nudes EVER, so please don’t ask. That goes for erotics and fetish shots as well, no thanks. I will almost always bring an escort along to my TF* and paid shoots. They are there as my personal support and extra help, if needed.

As I mentioned, Caroline got her degree and she soon started a separate online profile as a photographer. Here is how she introduced herself:

Hello model mayhemers! I am an experienced photographer with a studio based out of Melbourne, Florida. My photography is my life & I am very passionate about all of my work, personal or paid. I understand that there are a lot of models out there trying to build their personal portfolios, however I do not offer any kind of “time for” trade off. I have a strong portfolio & prefer to work with experienced models only. However, I am open to working with other professionals (models, mua’s, stylists, & photographers) on large portfolio building projects. I own my own studio in Melbourne, Florida & specialize in boudoir photography. To further check out my work please visit my website www.carolinejulianna.com..I love questions, ask me anything! I hope to work with some of you “mayhemers” out there! 🙂

As Caroline mentions, she has her own professional photography studio in Melbourne, Florida — and you can visit her website to see some of her amazing work! Here’s how Caroline describes herself on the site:

I’ve been doing photography now for 5 years. It’s always been a passion of mine & I am happy that I’ve been able to make it into a career. With a Photographic Technology degree in my pocket & years of training I’ve finally been able to begin working full time in my newly opened studio.

My style is complex. I love to take photos with an artsy feel.

My Nikon is my soul mate.

As for me as a person, I love to have fun & let loose. I love to shoot fashion, boudoir & weddings. I want my photographs to not only serve as memories, but as pieces of art.

Anyone can take a picture..But I like to create mine. 🙂

Was that too cliche? 😉

So I think you get the gist, I love what I do & I appreciate my clients that come to me for something different!

Here’s an example of one of Caroline’s photos, chosen because of my own geeky fondness for the incomparable vantrulescenece of The Mystery Machine:

Caroline’s beau Jeff Wortham also has a business in Melbourne, Rogue Leader Tattoo, and the two of them say they view Oregon as a second home. “When it gets cold, I come back to Florida,” Jeff told The Orlando Sentinel.

You can see more of Caroline Russell on new episodes of Epic Ink airing Wednesday nights at 10:30/9:30c on A&E. (History also aired in Monday night at 11/10c, but I don’t know if that is something they will continue to do moving forward.)
