Earlier today Ser Matthew Perry tweeted this photo of himself donned in armor and weaponry suitable for a true mummer’s farce. The picture was accompanied by the completely untrue words, “This needs no explanation right?”
No, Matthew Perry hasn’t joined the cast of HBO’s Game of Thrones (my guess would have been Podrick Payne – or perhaps Sangor and Gregor’s long lost brother, Chandler Clegane). On IMDB it states that he is currently filming The Whole Banana in which he plays Greek god Apollo, who “helps a struggling artist with her lagging love life.” But Apollo’s weapon of shoice was a bow and arrow, not an axe, right?
It seems IMDB is a tad behind because on Wednesday Matthew tweeted, “First day of shooting for GO ON.” Go On is a TV movie in which “an irreverent yet charming sportscaster who, after a loss, finds solace from members of his mandatory group therapy sessions.” Perry is playing the lead character, Ryan King, so perhaps this is some whacked out therapy scene? Or maybe a dream or daydream sequence?
Perhaps Matthew was right after all. It’s a hilarious photo – it doesn’t really matter what the context is.
