Mick Jagger posts heartfelt tribute to ‘lover and best friend’ L’Wren Scott

Mick Jagger - L'Wren Scott Suicide

Mick Jagger posted a heartbreakingly beautiful tribute to late girlfriend L’Wren Scott on Tuesday, simultaneously putting to rest rumors the couple of 10 years split.

“I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way,” said The Rolling Stones frontman in a post on his blog. “We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves.”

Mick went on to reference L’Wren’s personal talents, which is how she once said she wished to be remembered. Born Luann Bambrough, the 6’4″ stunner rebranded herself as L’Wren Scott when she began modeling as a teen. She went on to work as a successful stylist before forming celeb-favorite LS Fashion Ltd. in 2006.

“She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me.”

He also thanked fans for their outpouring of love, saying he’s “been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received.”

Among the celebrities who’ve expressed their grief over L’Wren’s death are Vogue‘s Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell, Olivia Wilde, Lily Allen and Mick’s ex-wife Bianca Jagger.

To give Mick and his fellow Stones time to mourn, the band called off upcoming concerts in Australia and New Zealand.

The investigation continues into L’Wren’s death, although authorities quickly ascertained suicide is the probable cause.
