Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg may be one the most successful entrepreneurs in the world, but running a billion-dollar business can’t compare to his biggest responsibility yet: becoming a dad.
Mark and his wife Priscilla–pictured above with Mark’s parents–announced today that they are expecting their first child: a baby girl!
The couple, who married in 2012, shared the exciting news via Facebook. (No surprise there.) Mark also revealed a surprising fact: the couple has struggled with miscarriage. He explained that he and Priscilla have “been trying to have a child for a couple of years and have had three miscarriages along the way.”
Mark elaborated regarding the sadness the pair felt dealing with the loss: “You feel so hopeful when you learn you’re going to have a child. You start imagining who they’ll become and dreaming of hopes for their future. You start making plans, and then they’re gone.”
Despite the bumpy road, Mark and Priscilla are confident this pregnancy is different.

We’re not sure when Baby Z will arrive. Judging by Priscilla’s petite bump, though, her due date is likely several months away. However, it’s possible the picture isn’t recent, or that Priscilla just has a tiny belly–so, really, it’s anyone’s guess.
What we do know is this little girl has two eager parents waiting for her. Congrats to the happy couple!
