VIDEO Lifetime’s Lizzie Borden Took An Ax trailer starring Christina Ricci
Lifetime looks to kick off 2014 with a gothic bang by premiering two rather sinister high-profile original movies beginning with an adaptation of V. C. Andrews’ Flowers in the Attic starring Heather Graham, Ellen Burstyn and Mad Men‘s Kiernan Shipka on January 18. The network then takes a swing at the world’s most infamous (alleged) female ax murderer with Lizzie Borden Took An Ax starring the Goddess of Goth, Christina Ricci as the 19th century nursery-rhyme inspiring title character.
We got our first look at Flowers in the Attic with a preview trailer released last month, and today we get the first preview clip from Lizzie Borden Took An Ax!
Looks creepy and fun! And no spoiler on the big question either! (With any adaptation of the Lizzie Borden story the big question is whether or not it will portray Lizzie as innocent or guilty of the murders, and for now that mystery is still intact with the Lifetime Movie.)
As far as the Lizzie Borden song from the trailer, I tried to find out who it is singing but had no luck. I’ll keep an eye and an ear out and as soon as I figure it out I will try to update the post.
Once again, Lizzie Borden Took An Ax premieres on Lifetime January 25 at 8/7c. Here’s a brief synopsis from the network:
The nursery rhyme “Lizzie Borden took an ax…and gave her mother forty whacks…when she saw what she had done, she gave her father forty-one” has been folklore for generations. But, in fact, it was Lizzie Borden — one of the most legendary figures in American history – who first whetted the public’s voracious interest in scandalous crimes in the 1800s with her own gruesome story involving the brutal murder of her parents. Starring Golden Globe® and Emmy® Award nominee Christina Ricci (Monster), Golden Globe® Nominee Billy Campbell (The Killing) and Screen Actors Guild Award® winner Clea DuVall (Argo), the Lifetime Original Movie Lizzie Borden Took An Ax premieres January 25, 2014, at 8pm ET/PT.
