Bad news for Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Teresa Giudice, but good news for the rest of us: You could potentially own Teresa’s canal-front house for as little as $100 — which is well below the $347,000 she and husband Joe Giudice paid for it in 2005.
The five-bedroom, two-bath home in Manahawkin will be going up for auction by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office, following Joe and Teresa’s failed attempts to sell it, NJ.com reports. According to the pair’s bankruptcy filing, they took out three mortgages on the home. During the 10 years they owned it, Joe and Teresa renovated twice, including once after it was heavily damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
The auction will begin at 2 p.m. on May 19 with a starting bid of $100. Bidding will continue as the price increases in $1,000 increments. The winner will have to accept the home as-is without an inspection. NJ.com also reports foreclosure proceedings on Joe and Teresa’s $2.99 million mansion began last week.
