How I Met Your Mother alum Neil Patrick Harris is angling for a role in American Horror Story and seems to have producer Ryan Murphy’s attention — finally.
“I wrote a letter to Ryan asking if I can be in it, even though I wasn’t even available to be in it,” NPH told EW Radio on Friday. “To do one that involves any kind of freak, circus nonsense is going to be so unsettling to watch. Can’t wait!”
After getting the message, the Freak Show mastermind responded with what sounds like an official invitation…

There’s actually a good chance the role could come together, considering NPH’s current tenure as the titular character in Broadway’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch wraps on Aug. 17. American Horror Story: Freak Show is set to premiere on FX a month and a half later, but production continues through the fall.
