Another Boy Meets World star signs on to Girl Meets World
With the Summer 2014 premiere of Girl Meets World quickly approaching, fans have yet another to be excited: Lee Norris — aka, Minkus — will drop by an elementary school classroom not all too different from the one where Cory Matthews and Shawn Hunter used to torment him.
“I’ve had a great time being back on set with some of my old friends,” Lee told E! News. “It still amazes me how many people love and remember Minkus, and I’m excited for the fans to catch up with him after all these years.”
Minkus was a fairly big character during the first few years of Boy Meets World, but seemed to drop off the face of the year as Cory, Shawn and Topanga moved on to junior high. To the delight of fans everywhere, he popped back up during the high school graduation episode — and even referenced another loved-and-lost character, Mr. Turner.
After moving on from Boy Meets World, Lee Norris had an extremely successful run as Mouth on One Tree Hill. He recently completed filming for Ben Affleck’s much-anticipated Gone Girl movie.
There’s no word on the extent of Minkus’ role in Girl Meets World. But, it doesn’t seem like fans will be hurting for nostalgia: Besides Ben Savage as Cory and Danielle Fishel as Topanga, William Daniels will reprise his role of Mr. Feeney in the premiere episode. Writer Michael Jacobs also indicated to Entertainment Weekly that Anthony Tyler Quinn will return as Mr. Turner to give fans some resolution.
