Columbia Pictures announced earlier today that the name of their latest Spider-Man reboot starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and the web slinger will be titled The Amazing Spider-Man. As part of the announcement the studio also released the first official image of Garfield as The Amazing Spider-Man. (Click image above to enlarge)
The film is scheduled for a July 3, 2012 release and will be shot entirely in 3D. Alongside Andrew Garfield the superstar cast includes Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. Marc Webb is the director and the screenplay was written by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves.
