Rory is all grown up! A representative for Alexis Bledel confirmed the former Gilmore Girls star is engaged to Vincent Kartheiser.
“They couldn’t be happier,” said one of Bledel’s friends to Us Magazine. “Vincent proposed a few weeks ago. She’s been wearing her ring. It’s huge!”
This will be the first marriage for Bledel, 31, and Kartheiser, 33. The pair began dating last year after meeting on the set of Mad Men. In the show, Bledel played Beth Dawes, a “hysterical” housewife who begins an affair with Kartheiser’s character, Pete Campbell.
Even though their on-screen relationship didn’t end well, Bledel had some kind words about Kartheiser.
“He’s light and funny and has lots of energy on set. He keeps everybody energized as well,” she explained to AMC last May.
Before appearing on Mad Men, Bledel was best known as Rory on the fast-talking Gilmore Girls. In one episode of the show, Luke, a cynical coffee shop owner, gave a pretty good description of marriage: “I guess if you can find that one person, you know, who’s willing to put up with all your crap and doesn’t want to change you or dress you, or you know, make you eat French food, then marriage can be all right… But that’s only if you find that person.”
Sounds like Bledel and Kartheiser have done just that. Congrats to the couple!
