This morning, Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans shared her latest lengthy blog via her new site. In the post titled “Overcoming Life’s Obstacles,” Jenelle talks about her new-found relationship with David Eason as well as the current status of her custody battle for son Jace with mom Barbara Evans.
Evans explains that she’s been doing her best to learn from her very public failed relationships with the likes of Kieffer Delp, Courtland Rogers and Nathan Griffith. She writes that, “I’ve always seemed to go for the “a**hole” type of guy. Why? I have no idea, and maybe this stems back to my dad disappearing.”
She then extolled the virtues of her current steady David Eason, explaining how his healthy co-parenting relationship has helped her reflect on how she can be better in the same role. “He showed me that co-parenting with an ex ISN’T impossible, no matter how hard it may be. He has a daughter and a son (we aren’t going to speak about his son). The first time I met his ex-wife, I saw that she was the sweetest girl and very mature about the situation of exchanging their daughter so she could stay every weekend with us,” she wrote.
On the Jace custody front, Jenelle admitted that mom Barbara is still fighting her and that she faces a “tough battle between my own mother and me because she will not let me have my son back.” She then wondered if perhaps Barbara is doing this because she’s become too attached to Jace or that maybe she just doesn’t want to be lonely.
She added that she’s sober, in a healthy relationship with Eason, and aiming to achieve her goal of regaining custody within the next couple of months, adding that it would be “the biggest accomplishment I’ve ever made in my life.”
Radar also released a report this a.m. featuring statements from Jenelle’s estranged dad, Robert Evans, as he addressed her previous blog post about how she and her dad had their falling out.
Robert Evans, 67-years-old from Scranton, Pennsylvania, said of his kids with Barbara – including Jenelle:
“They don’t call me. They don’t get in touch with me. And I have no idea how to get in touch with them.”
In Evans’ post “Daddy Issues” she explained that she had visitation with her dad after her parents divorced and she moved to North Carolina. She guessed that dad Robert stopped seeing her altogether when her step-dad Mike later came into the picture.
Robert Evans countered that idea stating, “I was never down in North Carolina. I never even knew him.”
Jenelle wrote about how this separation from her dad, who Robert says has lasted a decade now, is something she thinks about everyday and that she hoped that one day they might connect again, adding sweetly, “I love you daddy.”
Robert Evans wasn’t necessarily opposed to that idea either. “Yeah I would probably like to get in contact with her. If she wants to get a hold of me, my number is in the phone book. She can call me anytime she wants,” he said.
