Sherri Shepherd’s surrogate gives birth… Will Sherri mother the baby?

Sherri Shepherd Surrogacy Situation

Following reports that the surrogate hired by Sherri Shepherd and estranged husband Lamar Sally gave birth on Tuesday, it’s still unclear whether congratulations are in order for the ex-View panelist.

According to TMZ, Lamar was present in the Pennsylvania hospital when the baby was born. Sherri was not there; she tweeted about being at a carnival with older son Jeffrey.

Sherri seemingly abruptly filed for divorce from Lamar, her husband of three years, on May 2. She initially requested full custody of the unborn child, which was conceived using an egg donor. However, she later asked for a judge to rule that she has no parental rights and claimed her soon-to-be ex-husband intended to use the situation as a way to get child support.

Lamar told People that no agreement was reached during the former couple’s recent meeting.

“It’s still unclear what’s going on,” Lamar said last week.

Sherri hasn’t commented on the baby’s reported birth. After tweeting more about her day at the carnival, she retweeted congratulations on her newly announced Broadway role as the wicked stepmother in Cinderella.
