Vin Diesel is known for his tough guy roles in movies such as The Fast And The Furious and A Man Apart, but on Valentine’s Day he showed a softer side. On February 14, the infamously deep-voiced Vin made a video of himself singing a cover of Rihanna’s song “Stay,” and later that night he debuted it to his 39 million Facebook fans.
“Happy V Day…” Vin wrote just before 8:00 pm along with video you see below. Fans were instantly taken aback, and since then it’s been shared over 27,000 times and has been liked by over 168,000. In the video, Vin greets his fans by saying, “Happy V-day amore.” He then goes on to sing “Stay.”
During the clip, Rihanna’s music video can be seen projected on the wall beside Vin as he sings. In the video, Rihanna is singing naked in the bath tub. Sadly, Vin’s clothes stay on in the video and he isn’t much more than a shadow.
I dunno – I think Vin might have a future in the music industry as a William Shatner-esque lounge singer — what do you think? (You know you want to hear Vin do “Rocket Man” and “Mr. Tambourine Man!”)
Just two months ago, Vin wrapped filming on the upcoming Fast Six (aka Fast & Furious 6). He and several other member of the original film including Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster will be reprising their roles for the Europe-based follow-up flick.
The film is scheduled to be released on May 24 of this year.
