Connecticut weatherman Scot Haney thought he found a perfect snack during a live show on Wednesday morning: There was a small pile of Grape Nuts near his chair. Except they weren’t Grape Nuts.
“I kept finding more and more of it on the floor, and I thought it was Grape Nuts because it looked just like it,” the veteran weatherman said later in the show. “My cat threw up, and I must have stepped in it and that’s what I ate… I’m going to throw up.”
This is kind of what Scot deserved. After all, what grown man in his right mind would pick cereal up off the ground and eat it in the middle of a newscast? And then reveal it on television? And then tweet about it multiple times?
Considering the viral video’s attracted attention for the local news station, it wouldn’t be surprising to learn this was a hoax. But, for now, Scot’s sticking by his story — regardless of how bad it makes him look.
