Despite previously expressing plans to seek full custody of his children with ex-wife Kate Gosselin, Jon Gosselin revealed this week he has limited relationships with the twins and sextuplets. The situation is even so bad between Jon and one son that he hasn’t seen or spoken to the 11-year-old boy in a year and a half. (He declined to say which son.) Not surprisingly, Jon blames Kate for the estrangement.
“Now the kids are stuck in the middle between us,” Jon told Steve Harvey of his 15- and 11-year-old children. “I haven’t seen my son in a year and a half. I don’t know why. I can’t talk to him. I have no communication.”
Per their custody agreement, Jon the children for one dinner a week and every other weekend. However, it’s never all eight at once. “Most of the time I get four. I haven’t seen all of my kids together in about three years,” he explained. “I only get what I get… I pull to the gate, and whoever comes down the driveway, that’s who I get. I’m not privy to any information, I don’t know who I’m going to get.”
Last year, Kate said as much. “Some of the kids visit and some don’t,” she explained to InTouch. “That’s for the best.”
In another sneak peek from his interview with Steve Harvey, which airs on Monday, Jon said he quit the popular TLC show because the network tried to stop him and Kate from getting a divorce. (Which was clearly necessary, if you’ve followed either Jon or Kate in the time since.) “I took a moral stance versus a business stance,” Jon said. “I lost everything… The network sided with my ex-wife. They paid for her divorce attorneys.”
Kate declined to respond to Jon’s latest interview. A source close to her said, “As always, Kate has no desire to comment on Jon’s life or his choices. She will never comment on the father of her children.”
