Survivor 22: Redemption Island, Julie Wolfe is a World Championship Outrigger canoer, firefighter

On of the most athletically accomplished contestants on Survivor 22: Redemption Island, premiering tonight @ 8 on CBS, is 50-year-old firefighter Julie Wolfe.

Wolfe won the World Championship Outrigger Canoe Race in 1996 and 1998, a pretty impressive feat that involves a 41 mile course.

This mother of two not only kicks ass at canoeing, she’s also a firefighter, and is used to holding her own with the guys and during the physically and mentally trying times a firefighter faces.

That’s quite an impressive background, but Julie also has a huge motive to manipulate and fight her way past the infamous Russell Hantz and “Boston” Rob Mariano: she’s in desperate financial straights after a divorce and needs the cash to care for her two daughters. She describes having to pay alimony and child support (how does that work when she also says she has custody?), her house is in foreclosure, and her oldest daughter needs braces.

Does Julie have the chops to hang with the rest of the gang,or will she be an early bot?
