We made the observation years ago that Bravo needs to start releasing Real Housewives trading cards similar to those in the past for shows like Charlie’s Angels that feature not only the stars themselves (I don’t even know how many packs I would buy until I got my Mama Elsa rookie card!) but also important events (table flipping, wig pulling, Pandora’s wedding), objects (Alex McCord’s feed sack dress, Danielle’s square boobs, Phaedra’s hair roses) and even catch phrase could have their own card (“Who gon check me boo?!?”)
Well it seems the always fun-loving folks at Bravo are on the same page because they just released four trading cards for The Real Housewives of New Jersey!
The cards feature main characters Teresa Giudice, Caroline Manzo, Melissa Gorga and Jacqueline Laurita with a quote and list of allies for each.
We absolutely love the idea and hope Bravo moves forward with more cards in the future, even if they are just virtual! We even have a few suggestions for more Real Housewives of New Jersey trading cards such as…
Grandma Wrinkles! Dina Manzo’s unforgettably fur-challenged kitty so deserves to be immortalized with her own card! Though it would never be as collectible as a Giggy rookie card, I think this would be my favorite pet card.
“The Book” Ahhhh, the fuse that lit the table-flipping powder keg! Cop Without A Badge was the unheralded star of Season 1, spreading all sorts of rumors behind Danielle Staub’s back about her dark past that included being involved with drugs, stripping, and kidnapping.
This last one is an animated gif – you will understand why when you see it. (My apologies for the size – animated gif files can get really huge really quick so I had to scale it down)
Gia Giudice y’all! (“G to the ia!”) I suppose this animated card would be the equivalent of a collectable special insert. There would also need to be a “regular” version like this:
Thanks again to Bravo for the fun cards, and I really do hope they move forward with the concept in some way. (You could collect them by watching the shows sort of like virtual Get Glue stickers!) But, until we have more, we can all check out the only Real Housewife with actual real trading cards, Peggy Tanous!
