A leaked photo from Miley Cyrus’ W Magazine was unfocused, but still clear enough to make a point: We were all in for a gossipy treat when the actual photos were released. Well, here we are and — true to expectations — Miley’s photos and complementary interview are golden.
“I’m not Disney, where they have, like, an Asian girl, a black girl, and a white girl, to be politically correct, and, like, everyone has bright-colored T-shirts,” Miley told Ronan Farrow during an intimate monology at her Los Angeles home.
Throughout the interview, few topics were discussed in detail. Yet, almost every subject was addressed: men (“guys watch too much porn”), movies (her new favorite is the 1951 film version of A Streetcar Named Desire), travel (“Kenya’s my dream”) and more.
Miley contradicted herself a few times. For example, she said she’s “trying to tell girls, like, ‘F**k that.” She later added, “I’m not making any kind of statement.”
If that seemed a bit disjointed, it may be because of her professed love for weed.
“I just love getting stoned… I just want it to be back to where it’s, like, organic, good weed,” Miley said, explaining she doesn’t care about marijuana legalization.
Ronan — who is a rising star in the world of political reporting as well as the son of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen — observed the artist formerly known as Hannah Montana quite intelligent. That being said, Miley didn’t help herself with comments like “I think water’s, like, a really important thing.”
All in all, Ronan concluded Miley may not make sense to many of us — but that’s just fine because “America’s baddest bad girl doesn’t care what you think of her.”
