Big Black, who gamed fame as the other half of the hilarious duo Rob & Big on the hit MTV show, has died.
Christopher “Big Black” Boykin was professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek’s best friend and bodyguard on the unusual and fun show. Big was a great foil for all of Rob’s off-the-wall stunts and ideas.
A rep told TMZ that Big passed away Tuesday morning. There’s no official word yet on the cause of death, but the site cited friends of the star who believe it was a heart attack.
Fellow MTV star Chanel West Coast tweeted out her condolences:

There’s been no statement from Rob yet.
Boykin is survived by his 9-year-old daughter Isis Rea.
