Mia Farrow surely had the best of intentions when she posted a birthday wish to daughter Quincy Farrow on Monday — but there was one big problem with the execution: The original photo Mia shared was a screen-shot of her whole iPhone, which showed the Google search term “Mia Farrow and her black children.”
Mia’s mistake was quickly called out by former Time editor Nick Carbone, who added on Twitter, “You’d think @miafarrow would have a photo of her daughter without having to google it…with such an awkward search.”
Mia then replaced the picture with just the portrait she intended to share. She also responded to Nick with an explanation for how it happened: “nah. I took the photo myself & posted it before. Then someone sent it to me & I didn’t check source.” Still… Whoops!
