Hilary Duff to post-baby weight critics, ‘Say it to my face’
Last week some paparazzi pics surfaced of new mom Hilary Duff in a bikini during a holiday in Mexico. It’s been 3 months since she gave birth to her son little Luca and the actress/singer would be the first to tell you she’s not back to where she wants to be weight wise.
The 24-year-old had something to say in regards to an onslaught of mean-spirited comments throwing shade in her direction about her post-baby weight. The singer who is often considered one of the sexiest women in the world ( #8 in FHM’s Top 100 list for 2008) told In Touch:
“I’m not perfect, but I feel fantastic. ‘This is how it goes for most women – the weight doesn’t fall off overnight.”
Some of the criticism received included statements like, “Now I’m convinced she doesn’t even care how she looks, gross!” Duff isn’t fazed by all the “haters” and shows that even in her 20’s she’s a veteran in regards to what it means to be a celebrity. The baby stuff is new, but all the criticism and vitriol have always been there.
“I don’t care what people say. I’m not back to where I want to be, but I’m not stressing it.”
Hilary said that her NHL husband Mike Comrie has been supportive and great through the whole pregnancy and birth. “Even during my pregnancy he thought I was beautiful.” She added that he “didn’t care” about her additional pregnancy weight.
Hilary felt that all of these people who write negative things about her weight now should have the courage to, “Say it to my face.”
I say bravo to Hilary for just being herself and kudos to Mike for doing what he should. It sounds like they’re setting a great example for their son Luca. You can check out the bikini pics in question here.
