Dating website connects Americans with Canadians wanting to escape a Trump Presidency

Moving to Canada L

“If _______ happens, I’m moving to Canada!”

This is a common phrase among Americans who are fed up with U.S. politics. Gay marriage, Middle East strategy, drug control, and other controversial public policies are all topics that have prompted Americans to threaten a move to our northern neighbor.

None of those reasons, however, have encouraged quite the response as the current threat of Trump becoming president. John Stewart, Raven-Symoné, and Lena Dunham are just a few of the celebs who have gone on record, both comically and seriously, claiming they will leave The States if Donald Trump gets elected to office.

But how easy is it, really, to up and move to Canada?

One dating website is aiming to make that transition easier. According to their website, “Maple Match makes it easy for Americans to find the ideal Canadian partner to save them from the unfathomable horror of a Trump presidency.”

By all accounts, Maplematch.com appears to be totally legit. The site isn’t up and running just yet, but they do offer the option to join the waiting list.

They are also using social media to spread their message.

So wait, is this for real?

According to Maple Match’s CEO Joe Goldman, yes!

In an interview with the Calgary Eyeopener, Joe explained that the site is totally real, “Absolutely this is serious! The 49th parallel is just a line and Americans and Canadians have so much in common.”

As of May 10th, over 10,000 people have joined the waiting list.

Do you believe this is real???
