If you watched the series premiere of Fox’s new Big Brother meets Survivor reality series Utopia Sunday night then you may have found yourself wondering where you had seen Kentucky hillbilly handyman Red before. That’s because Red (real name Arthur VanWinkle) is no stranger to reality TV! He was the main character in Discovery’s Blue Grass Boys about marijuana farmers in rural Kentucky late last year.

Meet Hex Vanisles, the Katniss Everdeen of Utopia

The premise of FOX’s new reality show Utopia seems to be influenced by the Hunger Games. At the beginning, the participants are given the rules in front of a hologram, and while they aren’t fighting to the death, they are asked to fight for their ideals, which is an intense situation. Another Hunger Games reference is the casting of Hex, a 6ft tall, 25-year-old huntress who has a striking resemblance to Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen.
