Andrew Koppel died from heroin, cocaine, Valium and alcohol

40-year-old Andrew Koppel, son of Nightline host Ted Koppel, was found dead in an upper Manhattan apartment early on the morning of June 1 after a reported day-long drinking binge. At the time there was no indication that Koppel had taken any drugs in combination with his alcohol consumption, but an announcement by the NYC medical examiner today states that Andrew Koppel also had illegal and prescription drugs in his system at the time of his death.
