Jersey Shore cast in Venice lead by Snooki, The Situation and Vinny

UPDATE January 24, 2011 – The Jersey Shore crew will be officially invading Italy later this year! MTV announced earlier today that the show will film its fourth season there! CLICK HERE to read all about it!

Reminiscent of Michael Corlione’s return to Sicily in The Godfather, the entire cast of MTV’s controversial show Jersey Shore returned to their Guido homeland of Italy Saturday.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio, Jenni “J-Woww” Farley, Ronnie Magrow, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, Vinny Guadaguino and even Angelina Pivarnik posed for photographers and even took some photos of their own as they strolled the streets of Venice January 16. In honor of the return of their Prodigal sons and daughters the Italians have replaced Michelangelo’s David with the superior abs of The Situation:

Surprisingly, there were no protests. Apparently the Italians don’t don’t realize they are looking at their own kids two years from now! There was a brief moment of concern when Ronnie responded to heckling by a spectator and was about ot lay the dude out with “one punch” when he realized it was the Pope. Whew!

Wait, what? OH!!! Venice Beach, California! Well that’s kinda lame…

Anyway, here are a few highlights of “East Coast meets West Coast” featuring the Jersey Shore Holy Trinity Snooki, The Situation and Pauly D:

A little known fact – this would have been only the second cheesiest thing American entertainment has done to the great canaled city of Venice. Number one was the filming of Stephen Baldwin’s Sharks In Venice.
