Boy Meets World’s Corey and Topanga get a son for Girl Meets World spin-off

Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel as 'Boy Meets World' stars Corey and Topanga

Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are coming back to television in the Boy Meets World spin-off show Girl Meets World, and while it has already been announced that the couple has a daughter around whom the show will be based, it’s just been revealed that they will also have a son! Joining sister Rowan Blanchard (Riley) will be newcomer Teo Halm as her older brother.

Teo will be playing Elliot, who is described as “good looking, well built, funny and insightful in his observations. Good hearted except for his dedication toward using Riley as his wrestling practice dummy.” He kind of sounds like Corey’s older brother Eric. Well, except for the whole “insightful” part.

Teo previously starred in Waltham Vanguard, a 15-minute short which premiered at the UCLA film festival, and has two other projects in the works including a movie titled Bukowski, which is directed by James Franco and stars Josh Peck of Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh.

“I think it was just a matter of making sure all of us were on the same page about what we were going to do in terms of making the show last another seven years, hopefully,” Ben told Rolling Stone in December. “But it just seems a little poetic that we’re coming back 13 years later and it’s following our daughter’s character. I like that concept … and it’s kind of passing it off to the next generation.”

Girl Meets World is scheduled to begin filming later this month and will premiere on the Disney Channel’s 2013-2014 schedule, meaning we’ll see it around September.
