Who is the next Bachelor: Chis Soules or a dark-horse candidate?

Chris Soules - The Bachelorette - Next Bachelor

Now that The Bachelorette‘s Andi Dorfman is riding off happily into the sunset, the immediate question is who will be the next Bachelor

Based on Monday’s After the Final Rose special, it looks like Chris Soules is the frontrunner from Andi’s season. The Iowa farmer, who was let go by Andi after the hometown dates, was visibly nervous when the topic of the next Bachelor came up. Andi also helped set the stage for him by deeming him “the whole package.”

“He is the all-American guy who is a farmer who does not look like a farmer, but he’s also successful and he’s ready for a family,” said the newly engaged lawyer. “He’s going to be a great husband and a great father.”

However, Chris’ police record paints a slightly different picture: He was arrested at 19 for driving under the influence with an open container in the car. In 2002, he was arrested again for fighting in public. He was last arrested in 2005 for another DUI after he was found passed out behind the wheel. Still, the ever-reliable Reality Steve predicts the job will go to Chris if he wants it.

The other natural candidate from Andi’s season is runner-up Nick Viall, especially after he won sympathy points for the whole “I was completely blindsided” angle.

Unfortunately for Nick, he may have made the fatal mistake of shaming Andi for sleeping with him in the fantasy suite. After having an arguably chauvinistic Bachelor in Juan Pablo Galavis, producers will likely be wary of Nick.

Then there’s the dark-horse candidate… Arie Luyendyk Jr., the runner-up from Emily Maynard’s season. (He went on to date The Bachelor‘s Courtney Robertson, but is single again.)

“Arie is being considered and filmed for promos,” a source told Us Weekly. “He already had his packages shot and they even got him a trainer so he could buff up and be camera ready with his shirt off.”

The insider said no decisions have been made and the next Bachelor won’t be announced for another few weeks…
