Even though Miley Cyrus says she isn’t “making any kind of statement,” Kendra Wilkinson thinks she should — because Kendra considers Miley to be a “very good example.”
During Jennifer Love Hewitt’s maternity clothing line launch party on Tuesday, Kendra spoke to E! about what she hopes to teach her soon-to-be-born daughter. She specifically cited Miley’s example…
“As much as we think she’s crazy, I think she’s a good example,” Kendra said. “Let’s not be so trapped in a box. I’m going to teach my daughter that way: Be who you want to be. Society’s going to put these rules on you but if you have this feeling that you need to do whatever it is, do it.”
For her part, Miley recently told W Magazine she wants more young women to think outside the box when it comes to personal style: “You don’t have to wear makeup. You don’t have to have long blonde hair. That’s not what it’s about.”
Kendra clarified it’s that kind of message she appreciates — not some of the other things Miley promotes.
“I’m not saying drugs. I’m not saying that I’m pushing her or inviting her to a bad world,” Kendra said about how she’ll encourage her daughter. “What I’m saying is we’re all human. We’re all going to go through those stages at one point of our lives. Is it going to be later or is it going to be earlier? Eventually, they will go through it.”
This isn’t Kendra’s first time expressing an unpopular opinions on raising kids: She said in September that she would “100 percent say OK” if her daughter eventually wants to pose for Playboy as long as she’s in the right mental place.
