Sisters Andrea, Jessica and Shanell continue to try to help others escape fundamentalist polygamy groups in a a third season of A&E’s dramatic Escaping Polygamy docuseries. The third season premieres on August 7, and in the preview trailer released by A&E, we meet some of the people trying to get out — including a son of Warren Jeffs.

“My father molested girls,” we hear a young man say at the very start of the clip as we are shown a photo of Warren Jeffs and his wives. “He separated me and my brother.” This appears to be a brother that got out. We are then introduced to the brother still remaining, who says “I gotta get out of here, but I don’t want to leave without my family.”
According to the network’s press release announcing the new season, the remaining brother is leaving in hopes of finding his mother, “who he has been separated from for most of his life.”
We then meet Chris and Meagan — Meagan is apparently out but Chris is still in. Her story line is described in the release as “a young girl who desperately wants to rescue the love of her life in a dangerous mission that further exposes the dark and treacherous realities of polygamy.”
There is also another woman to be featured this season that we did not see in the trailer. She is described as “a mother hoping to find her daughters who have been hidden within an elite group in the FLDS community.”

Andrea, Jessica and Shanell daringly left the Kingston clan, a polygamous group based in Salt Lake City, Utah, known as “The Order.” Since escaping the polygamous cult, the sisters have devoted their lives to helping friends and strangers alike do the same. The path out of polygamy is not an easy one for those who choose to leave, from the often dangerous initial escape, to the struggle to adjust to a life isolated from their friends and family still in polygamy. As more polygamous sects become aware of the girls’ mission, these challenges have become even greater. Groups have tightened the hold over their followers making successful escapes more dangerous.
