Victoria Beckham wants to forget about the Spice Girls

Spice Girls - 1997 - Girl Power

Here’s a fun fact about me: I was so obsessed with the Spice Girls that I performed choreographed hula-hoop routines to their songs for my second and third grade talent shows. I’m just putting that out there to demonstrate why Victoria Beckham’s new statements to Paris Vogue are so sad…

“I realized it was finished for good in 2008, when we reformed for our reunion tour,” the artist formerly known as Posh Spice told Paris Vogue. The interview was translated by The Telegraph. “It should have been the best moment of my life, but I just wanted to be elsewhere… It wasn’t a lack of respect for the girls or the audience, but the passion just wasn’t there.”

This new revelation contradicts what Victoria said in July 2012 about “loving nothing more” than the thought of reuniting with Baby, Scary, Sporty and Ginger for the closing ceremony at the 2012 London Olympics.

Still, I think we all knew how she really felt during the performance…

Although Victoria’s never had bad things to say about the group, Melanie Chisholm (aka Sporty Spice) told Britain’s Metro last spring the other Spice Girls knew Posh was apathetic about reuniting.

“It’s no surprise to anyone that Victoria’s heart isn’t in performing any more, she’s gone on to be so successful in fashion, which is incredible and I have so much respect for her for doing that, she’s worked really hard to get there,” Sporty said, adding it was “utter nonsense” to talk about replacing Victoria.
