Storage Wars Miami star Kevin Pew’s son Hashim Pew murders family friend during viewing party?
A Storage Wars: Miami viewing party in Pembroke Pines, Florida turned into a nightmare for show star Kevin Pew last week. According to a police report, Kevin’s 23-year-old son Hashim Pew allegedly shot and killed 19-year-old family friend Janel Hamilton before Kevin wrestled Hashim to the ground and took the .45 caliber pistol from his grasp. The report says Hashim shot Janel a second time as she was laying on the floor and declared, “She’s dead as f***, dawg.”
The shooting occurred on Tuesday, October 13 at the Pew family’s townhome. Janel, who is from England, was staying with the Pew family until heading off to pursue a law degree at Kennesaw State College in January. She was getting a late start because her high school transcripts from London had been held up.

Police reveal that Hashim’s mother was Janel’s godmother. “We know the Pews are feeling just as sad as we are because it was her godmother and she loved [Hamilton],” said Janel’s great aunt, Verion McGann. “She took her in her house to find her a job until school opened in January.”

According to an arrest report, the suspect was sitting on a bar stool at a table behind where Hamilton was sitting. Police said someone who was sitting on the couch with Hamilton got up to grab a blanket and that’s when they heard a gunshot. Police said Hashin Pew shot Hamilton once from behind and then walked closer to her, striking her again. Kevin Pew tackled Hashin Pew to the floor at which time Hashin stated, ‘She’s dead as f— dawg,’ the report said.
Hashim Saeed Pew (mug shot above) has been charged with 1st degree premeditated murder. Police say that the gun used in the crime has been “identified as stolen during a vehicle burglary in Central Florida from 2008.” According to CBS Miami, “[Hashim] Pew does have a criminal history of grand theft and carrying a concealed weapon, but no history of violent crimes.”
