Paul Walker crash reports detail cause of accident
The Los Angeles County Coroner reports Roger Rodas was driving his 2005 Porsche Carrera GT faster than 100 miles per hour when he lost control on Nov. 30, 2013.
“For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of his vehicle, and the vehicle partially spun around,” the report stated, adding the car proceeded to hit a tree, light post and then spin 180 degrees and hit another tree before igniting. The crash killed Roger and his passenger, Fast and Furious star Paul Walker. Despite suspicions previously raised by friends, the final report said no mechanical defects contributed to the crash.
The Coroner’s report included Roger and Paul’s official causes of death: Roger suffered major head trauma and died instantly. Paul died from “combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries.” Soot in his lungs indicates he may have taken a few breaths after the crash. His “pugilistic stance” indicates he braced himself for the impact. Neither Roger nor Paul had traces of drugs or alcohol.
