Michalka sisters heat up People’s Choice red carpet

Amanda and Alyson Michalka who form the sister duo band 78Violet wowed on the red carpet yesterday for the 2011 People’s Choice Awards.  The Disney vets who recently changed their band name from Aly & AJ took separate fashion paths but both looked amazing as the wall of cameras on hand couldn’t get enough.

Alyson wore a funky chic black and white lace lined piece that managed to combine the seemingly polar opposite forms of classy and trashy.  The result was a real sexy yet appropriate look for a respected and tabloid free performer.  Here’s a full shot of Alyson from the red, well blue actually, carpet:

While Alyson funked it up Amanda went straight for the wow.  She squeezed in to an extremely form fitting black mini dress with white lace accents.  The dress was all about attention, a taste of delicious eye candy and I certainly noticed.  Legginess and serious cleavage have never let a girl down on the red carpet and this certainly held true for Amanda.  Here’s a full shot of Amanda turning heads and demanding attention:

The 2011 People’s Choice Awards was held at the Nokia Theatre in L.A.  Some heavyweight pop stars were on hand in addition to Aly and AJ including Taylor Swift, Johnny Depp, Elton John, Zac Efron, Kim Kardashian and Selena Gomez.

Since the Michalka sisters were kind enough to look so darn fine I feel obliged to give their band 78Violet a little plug.  Here’s a clip of the sisters introducing their new name and letting their fans know they’re grateful for all the support:
