Melissa Leo drops F-bomb during Oscar acceptance speech

Melissa Leo was stunned when she took the stage to pick up her Best Supporting Actress Oscar from Kirk Douglas tonight, and minutes later the overwhelmed winner dropped the F-Bomb on live television.

At first Kirk didn’t seem ready to give up the statue, prompting a little flirtation.

Melissa:”This is mine? For me?”
Kirk: “You are much more beautiful than you were in The Fighter.”
Melissa; “You’re pretty good looking yourself, what are you doin’ later on?”

“Oh my god. Oh wow. Really, really, really, really truly, wow. I know there’s a lot of people that said a lot of real nice things to me for several months now, but I’m just shakin’ in my boots here.

Thank you David O. Russell. I want to thank the actors Mark Walhberg, Christian Bale . . .

Yeah I am kind of speechless . . oh there are people up there too. When I watched Kate [Winslet] two years ago it looked so f**cking easy.”

Melissa was quick to apologize back stage, but let’s face it, that was good television! Own your F-word Melissa, that was effing amazing.

Here’s what Melissa said once she got backstage (via PopEater):

“I had no idea. This word … I apologize to anyone that they offended. There’s a great deal of the English language that is in my vernacular. I really don’t mean to offend and it’s probably a very inappropriate place to use that particular word.”
