Malin Ackerman and husband Roberto Zincone originally met in 2003 while performing with the alternative rock band The Petalstones. While the couple has since moved on from their band, they may need to get back in the studio and start producing a few new hits, lullabies to be exact, because they’re expecting their first child together.
Earlier today, their rep confirmed the news to Us Weekly. The Watchmen and Rock of Ages actress had said in June of last year that she “absolutely” wanted kids as soon as possible.
After being brought together by music, Malin and Roberto began spending time together after band practices, and while Roberto didn’t speak much English the two got to know each other with the help of a dictionary. They eventually started dating and were married in 2007 in Italy. Malin previously said that she’s confident her husband will make an amazing husband because of his easygoing demeanor.
“We rarely bicker,” Malin recently said of her husband. “We’ll sort of fume at each other and then we’ll figure it out.” Malin vowed to never be away from her husband for more than two or three weeks and when she’s on the road, they do whatever it takes to keep the romance alive.
“We’ve had some really great experiences. When I was shooting [2009’s Couples Retreat] in Bora Bora, he came out there and it was like a honeymoon that we never had,” Malin adds. “We get really lucky and we make it work.”
Once their baby comes, they’ll really have to adjust their lives. Good thing they have so much practice making it work!
